How to fix fuel gauge in truck?
My 1995 GMC Jimmy's fuel gauge does not register properly. How do I fix this? Do I just need to replace the gauge or is there more involved? Any ideas?

Yes, it's not telling exact qnty. Actually it's about half a tank off. So, I don't think that is normal 
but thanks anyway.
Start off by waiting till the tank is almost empty. Playing with fuel systems is extremely hazardous, and requires absolute adherence to good safety practices. If you are unaware of what these are, don"t start this job.
You will have to remove the last of the fuel from the tank. Danger will Robinson danger!
Drop the tank.
Remove sending unit.
check float. check sending unit. replace any damaged parts.
operate sending unit Now you know if it is the tank or gauge.
