Classification of the ball valve
It is pleasant to see that the valves with a great range have been widely used in various fields, either in the industrial process or in our daily life. Ball valve, as a specified kind, has been popular affecting as an important role in controlling the inside flow. In order to achieve the various specifications, there are several types of the ball valve with specialties. And it is certain that there exist different classifications due to different terms. Now, in terms of the structure, there are three main types of the ball valve available.
The first type is called the floating ball valve which refers to the valve with a floating valve body. Under the pressure from the medium, the valve body is forced to press tightly to the sealing face of the exit end, reaching the function of ensuring the tightness. As it has been described, this type of the ball valve is with simple structure and easy operation. But it should be made sure that the sealing face is able to withstand the pressure passed from the medium. Otherwise, all efforts would be in vain. Thus, it is necessary to adopt the suitable material for the sealing face. Commonly, it is widely used in conditions with low or medium pressure.
The second type is called the fixed ball valve. It is different from the floating ball valve as the valve body of this type is fixed. Instead, the movable part is the valve seat. The received pressure would lead the valve seat to move. Then, the sealing face would be compressed to the valve body, reaching the requirements of the tightness. Generally speaking, it is applicable for conditions with much higher pressure and much bigger diameter resulting from the ball bearings in the shafts of the valve body.
The last type is called elastic ball valve which is applicable for the inside medium with high pressure and temperature. It means that the valve body of this type is elastic. Or it can be said that the sealing can be only reached by the external force. The external force is needed indeed because the pressure from the medium would not be able to ensure the tightness, as the material for the valve body and the sealing face is commonly the metal. The elasticity is gotten by the gap below the inside surface of the valve body. During the working, the valve stem plays an important role. For example, when the channel is closed, the valve stem with the wedge-shaped head compresses the valve body to the valve seat tightly.
Above all, it is obvious to see that the major difference locates in the difference of the valve body. Actually, there are many trials to optimize the operating of each type. Definitely, they are continuing to bring benefits either to the industrial process or to the daily life.

How to Rebuild Hydraulic Cylinder
This article is all about, how to rebuild hydraulic cylinders? Hydraulic cylinder repair is an essential skill that must be grasped by people who regularly use hydraulic systems. This article is a tutorial on hydraulic cylinder repair and it deals with all the major problems with hydraulic cylinders, like hydraulic cylinder mechanical seal damage. Read on, to get an idea about how to rebuild hydraulic cylinder?
Hydraulic systems are widely used in agriculture, construction and manufacturing industry. Bulldozers, cranes, tractors, loaders, elevators and all such heavy equipment machines use hydraulics. Hydraulic hybrid vehicles are some of the newest developments in hydraulic technology. Hydraulics is an applied science which applies the mechanical properties of fluids to build hydraulic systems that can perform heavy duty mechanical jobs with precision. The hydraulic systems offer power with precise control and versatility . At the core of every hydraulic system is the hydraulic cylinder. It is the central component on which all hydraulic systems are dependent. Therefore, one must learn how to rebuild hydraulic cylinder, as it saves money and valuable time. Knowing hydraulic cylinder repair is a skill worth having under your belt because its always good to know your tools of trade, inside out. Before we go into hydraulic cylinder repair, let us briefly understand the construction and working of a hydraulic cylinder.
Construction and Working of a Hydraulic Cylinder
Any hydraulic system is made of two parts; the hydraulic pump that generates the pressure and the hydraulic cylinder that delivers the mechanical action in response to pressure. The hydraulic cylinder is a cylindrical barrel fitted with a piston which fluidly moves back and forth. The cylinder barrel is of course sealed from both ends.
The piston divides the barrel body into two parts; the rod end which is the side from where piston enters the barrel body and the other side which is capped called the cap end. The piston is driven back and forth by the hydraulic fluid, which is mostly oil, introduced by the hydraulic pump. The piston has sliding rings and seals which prevent the leakage of fluid from one part of the piston compartment to the other part. The piston is connected with appropriate mounting arrangement. It conveys piston motion to appropriate moving part of the machine which carries the load.
The idea behind every hydraulic system working is simple. The pressure applied at one point is conveyed to other point by the use of an incompressible fluid which is usually oil. So when the pump pushes oil into the piston chamber, from the cap side, the piston is lifted up. When oil is sucked back by the hydraulic pump from the chamber, the piston gets pushed down. This is how a hydraulic system works by conveying force through an incompressible fluid. By using pistons of different surface areas, force multiplication can be achieved. A heavier load can be lifted up by relatively lesser force, using this principle!
Hydraulic Cylinder Repair
Now that we know, how a hydraulic cylinder works, we can delve into reasons for why it falls into disrepair condition. Here are some common problems that can break a hydraulic cylinder or cause its malfunctioning. I will outline the possible solutions that can help you rebuild or repair your hydraulic cylinder. Read instruction manuals for the machine supplied by the manufacturers carefully, before going ahead.
Problem 1: Hydraulic cylinder is cracked or piston rod is bent!
Solution: If on observation, you see the cylinder rod is bent or the cylinder barrel is cracked, there is pretty much nothing you can do. Its time to replace the cylinder. Forging a new barell or straightening the piston rod is beyond your capacity. So if this is the case, repairing the hydraulic cylinder is not possible.
Problem 2: The hydraulic cylinder seal is broken!
Solution: If the shaft seal is broken, it can be replaced. However, an opening of the entire cylinder assembly is necessary. Let us see how we can go about it. Obtain a diagram of the hydraulic cylinder if possible as it will help you in reassembly. These diagrams can be had from the equipment manufacturers and you can also carry a printout. You can order a standard repair kit for your hydraulic cylinder which is supplied by the manufacturing company. It includes spare cylinders, spare seals and other spare parts according to the number and type of cylinders in your machine.
The assembly of the cylinder varies with machine type. Locate the seal position first. Mostly, you will find it around the shaft on one end. The shaft entry end can be accessed by unscrewing the lid from that side. Then loosen the pipes that transmit the hydraulic fluid into the chambers which will release pressure. This will enable you to remove the shaft which otherwise cannot be removed due to hydraulic pressure. Handle the shaft carefully and take care that you do not scratch it. Detach the piston from the shaft and replace the seal with the spare one from the repair kit. Make sure that the seal is aligned rightly. Oil all parts after fitting and reassemble everything in exactly reverse order.
Problem 3: Piston Rings are damaged!
Solution:If the piston rings are damaged, then they can be replaced too, by the same disassembling procedure, as for the above problem. The Piston rings need to be removed and replaced very carefully. Oil the rings and cylinder assembly before putting back everything together.
If you have a multiple cylinder arrangement, things are more complicated. It is better to consult a qualified technician before going ahead. I hope this article has given you an idea about how to rebuild hydraulic cylinder with ease. Always remember one rule while you are solving mechanical seal problems, do not proceed without a reason to take a particular action. Also, study the assembly and causative framework of the machine before going for repair. Hydraulic cylinder repair can be a good learning experience for anyone who loves machine design.

Tips For A Last Minute Spring Vacation To Walt Disney World
Do you have last minute plans to travel to the most magical place on Earth for spring break this year? Though huge crowds are to be expected, don't let that dissuade you from adding this marvelous destination to your travel itinerary. From four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom), two water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach) and 24 themed hotels to a bevy of dining, shopping, recreation and entertainment venues, it's no wonder that the now-39-year-old mecca for Mickey Mouse fans is the largest and most visited recreational resort in the world. Read on for tips to help make your Walt Disney World vacation as hassle-free and enjoyable as possible.
1. Book fast!
With sizable crowds continually pouring into the theme parks over spring break, it's no surprise many hotels will be at or near full capacity. But don't despair! If you book now, you can still lock in good rates at some hotels set just minutes from Walt Disney World. Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, located just 1.5 miles from the front gate of Walt Disney World, couples the grandeur of a turn-of-the-century Florida mansion with the modern amenities and deluxe accommodations of a world-renowned luxury hotel. Among its many draws are a 4.5-acre, glass-domed atrium and 20,000-square-foot spa with a salon and fitness center. There's also the Royal Plaza Hotel at Downtown Disney, where guests enjoy a swimming pool, fitness center, four lighted tennis courts, preferred tee times at all 4 Walt Disney Resort golf courses, and complimentary transportation to all Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks.
2. Plan your day carefully.
Travelers who stay at select Walt Disney World resorts such at the Swan and Dolphin can enjoy Extra Magic Hours. Each day, one of the four Disney theme parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular closing, thus allowing guests to enjoy select attractions a bit earlier or later than most theme-park goers. If your property is a non-Disney owned and operated hotel, you can take advantage of the free and ever-popular FASTPASS. All you have to do is insert your park pass into a nearby kiosk and you'll receive a voucher for a certain time frame – usually an hour or two later – in which you can return, bypass the standby line and get on the ride with little to no wait. (Note: FASTPASS tickets are not given during Extra Magic Hours.)
Not only does this cut hours of waiting time but it buys you time to shop, grab a bite to eat, or even wait in line for a different ride. It's also convenient for travelers with kids in tow who might otherwise grow restless from having to wait in line for extended periods of time. There are restrictions as to how many FASTPASS tickets you can have at once. Even tickets for popular rides like Splash Mountain and Space Mountain can run out in the afternoon, so you'll want to snag them early.
3. Consider making lunch and dinner reservations.
After a busy day walking around one or more parks, you're sure to work up an appetite. There's nothing more frustrating than finding out that there is a two hour wait to be seated at the restaurant of your choice. Make priority seating reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE; this will leave you more time to shop, take pictures and enjoy rides. Reservations are free and can be made up to 180 days in advance of your stay. Remember, several vending carts and quite bite locations are sprinkled throughout each park, making it easy to grab a snack while on the go. If you're not taking snacks with you for the road, it'd be wise to stop by the grocery store to make a few purchases prior to setting off for Orlando.
4. Stay on top of the weather and dress accordingly.
As we all know, Florida weather can be quite erratic. Stay abreast of weather conditions by checking the local forecast each morning and evening, whether via TV or newspaper. Not only will this dictate the best time of day to head for the theme parks, but it'll help you in choosing weather-appropriate attire. You wouldn't want to be caught wearing a sweater on a sweltering morning or without a rain poncho on an overcast afternoon.
5. Don't miss fun Easter events.
Why spend your spring break at Walt Disney World and not join in on the Easter festivities? The Magic Kingdom will be hosting the Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade on April 4, 2010. Two parades will be performed March 28-31, 2010 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Given the large crowds, prime locations for parade viewing will be grabbed quickly, so make sure to pick your spot an hour or more before parade time. If you plan to swing by Epcot with the little ones on Easter Sunday, you can have them take part in an Easter egg hunt (ages 3-9) in the Heritage Garden at the American Adventure. There will be an egg hunt every 30 minutes from 11:40 a.m. to 5:40 p.m. Kids ages 6-12 can participate in an Easter egg relay at Future World West Garden, just outside Character Spot in Innoventions West. Relays will be held 40 minutes after the hour from 10:40 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.
A Walt Disney World spring vacation doesn't have to be hectic and stressful. With a little planning, you can beat the crowds and come away with a truly unforgettable experience. What are you waiting for? Mickey Mouse awaits!

Valves
The valves are important for devices operating plumbing to be installed for each device in the home or business. The shut-off valves located at each health facility limits the work area and keep the other functional parts of the house.
Type closing of the valves:
Taps Accessories
If a device does not have plumbing or appliance shut-off valve, you have to put the house in an emergency. Therefore, the valves are installed in: faucets, sinks, refrigerators (for the frost line), washing machines, water heaters and dishwashers.
A shutoff valve is usually a body with a chrome handle and oval. If the handle not open so easily, not force, is likely to be broken and used to completely turn off the water in an emergency. In the If there is no shutoff valve, it will be very important to install one.
Roosters chief
Every home should have closed the main valves that regulate water flow and the house could potentially regulate the water pressure too. In Some houses in the main is closed in and in some cases the closure is outside the home. We recommend installing the closure main outside the house. It is always important to find the main shut-off valve, usually located near the point of the water meter. Two valves must be located, one on each side of the counter. In some cases, a home that does not have a shutoff valve, a hose to find Grand enter the house, often underground. Somewhere along the line, you must find the valve. In hot climates, the main valve is on the outside. In cold weather, the main valves is most common in the house. A special valve is near the point where a line branches from the main line of the utility to bring water. In some cases, you can not find the key password, call the water and wonder how a little help. In cold weather, outside the fence is made of plastic or concrete underground container, sometimes called "underground containers" or "Buffalo box."
In cold climates, the closing is below the frost line in the bottom of the tube covered with cast iron cover. A special key or a key to achieving and close and water.
Intermediate closures
In some cases, the valves are exposed in a cellar, cellar, laundry room, or behind access panels bath. In most cases, there will be one for hot water and one for cold water. If water was launched, you can feel the heat ... These are intermediate taps controlling the flow of water around the house. To find the specific valve accessory control, close and go through the house, turn valves and clean the bathroom. Remember that the toilets are needed to be washed twice, and then listen to refill the tank after discharge. For hot water heater, the closure is near the boiler.
Water meter
It is important to locate the water meter home, checking the use of water leaks and ensure that the utility is managed correctly. A water meter (some of them have a digital display) simply shows the amount in early billing. If a major leak is not detected, you will see the average monthly bill goes up.

I have been in the industry and a business owner for over 30 years.
Why do my valve cover gaskets keep leaking?
I have an 89 Ford Crown Vic with the 5.0 engine and ny valve cover gaskets keep leaking. I have tried different gaskets(cork, heavy duty rubber and the ones with the metal inside) and after a couple of months the start leaking again all done by shop mechanics. Are they and I overlooking something?
Even in the newest engines, a certain amount of combustion gases find their way down past the pistons and into the crankcase, causing gaseous pressure to build up in the engine. This pressure can easily cause gaskets to fail. To prevent this, all engines are fitted with a positive crankcase ventilation tube. The tube is fitted with a one way valve, and normally runs from the top of the rocker cover into the throttle housing of the carby. The expelled gases are recycled back through the carby and burnt. Suspect PCV valve blocked! Hope this helps. OZ

I live in Dallas, TX. Where can I buy cheap/wholesale automotive repair supplies and parts?
I live in Dallas,Tx and plan to open an automotive repair shop. I have been buying parts and supplies from autozone and it's getting quite expensive and doesnt seem like we're making any profit...where can I get parts and supplies for shop that are cheap/wholesales. thanks a lot of any input.
i don't know any part houses there other than NAPA but if you ask some of the other shops around (that specialize in work other than what you do - your competitors probably won't help), they are usually very helpful. stop by a local dealer parts dept.. their guys have a plethora of parts houses they deal with. go online and look up carquest and also try parts plus. i'm a bit surprised. usually when a new shop opens up, all the parts houses out there will beat down the new shops doors trying to get their business. very strange to me that they haven't done so.
