How do I find good used hydraulic control valves for John Deere L&G tractors?
I am looking for a good used hydraulic control valve for a Model 318 lawn and garden tractor any body have any info?
Do you have a part number? Ebay is a good place to start. If you have a P/N though you might be able to rebuild it. I work for a company that builds hydraulic equipment. JD makes most of their own valves for larger equipment but I believe they buy some of the smaller non specific ones. Seal kits and parts are usually available. and unless you get the valve cheap would be the way to go. Most are not difficult.
Edit: Robin, he is asking about a control valve, not fittings. Rebuilt valves are used all of the time. That is a big Business ,

which is better cylinder or rotary lawn mower?
i am have problems when mowing new growing grass seedling with my hoover mower,
and cannot keep the grass, it just comes out,
so which mower would suit me a new cylinder mower or rotary
mower......
soil no sorry its mudd ih ave to grow my grass on!
My staff prefer a rotary mower with a mulching deck. The advantage of the mulching deck is you do not need to pick up the trimmings.
Cylinder mowers leave a better finish but they cannot handle 'brown tops' these are the seed stalks from some varieties of grass so you have to go over it first with a rotary mower.

How can I increase the speed/power/pull/torque of the wheels on my self propelled lawn mower?
Front wheel drive self propelled mower. The wheels turn if you pull them up off the ground but do not have enough power to pull the mower along when they are in contact with the ground. Looking for a way to increase the power of the drive wheels. Thanks.
Sounds like the belt is worn out and slipping. I am sure that it was originally made to pull the mower along.
