why tractor rear wheel is greater in diameter?
basically ,the diameter of the rear wheel of tractor is greater than its front wheel. why?
On rough terrain, which is normally encountred by a tractor, a high tractive force is needed. The range of that tractive force is directly related to the range of torque that can be applied to the rear wheel before it reaches the limiting value of static friction when the wheel begin to spin with a lower value of dynamic friction. That range of torque is directly proporrional to the diameter of the wheel.
Imagine would happen if the tractor is fitted with a car size wheel!
